What to do if you suspect fraud

If you know of someone committing fraud, or if you have information about a potential case of fraud involving one of the benefits programs administered by Perry County JFS, you should report it immediately. You can reach us at 740-342-3551, option 7.

Reports of fraud will be investigated and penalties for violating the rules of benefit programs can include:

  • Loss of benefits;
  • Repayment requirements for any benefits inappropriately received;
  • Potential prohibition from receiving future benefits;
  • And the potential for formal charges or prosecution of those who violate benefit program rules.

Ultimately, working together and remaining vigilant are the keys not only to keeping each other safe, but also to preserving our system and ensuring its ability to continue serving our community.
