Benefit Bridge
What is it?
Benefit Bridge is a program designed to bridge the gap between a family's new income and their decrease in benefits. The main focus of the county’s program is on single-parent homes, but may include others.
About
Benefit Bridge provides monthly case management with participants to set goals, improve financial literacy, and offer assistance with closing the gap in benefits resulting from an increase in income.
Tuition
Participants are required to engage in an in-demand training or educational program, which will ultimately lead to increased wages and greater self-sufficiency.
Transportation
Participants have access to support with transportation in the form of gas vouchers as well as vehicle repairs. This provides participants with reliable transportation to work and school.
Expenses
Participants complete a financial literacy course and have access to a financial advisor to improve their understanding of personal finances. Monthly budgeting guidance is also provided by the case manager. Participants may potentially receive support for living expenses to alleviate urgent needs and help reduce debts that hinder progress.
